D’Alberto spielt alle Instrumente selbst ein, sampelt sie und mischt die Sounds zu tief emotionalen Klangwelten.

Für ihn ist die persönliche Beziehung zu seiner Musik entscheidend. Daraus entstehen diese einprägsamen und kraftvollen Melodiebögen, die sich verwebenden Arrangements aus Klavier, Violine und Orchester, die prägnanten Crescendi und Spannungsbögen, die die Stücke prägen. Ein verschlungener Tanz aus Geige und Klavier, durchdrungen von einer cineastischen Atmosphäre und von einem feinsinnigen, elektronischen Klangteppich überzogen. Hinter einer soliden klassischen Formation setzt D’Alberto auch Elektronik ein, um die Ausdruckskraft akustischer Instrumente wie Klavier, Streicher, orientalische Trommeln, Gongs und tibetischer Quarzglocken zu verstärken.

Die Aufnahmen für „Exile“ entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit Patrick Christensen aka PC Nackt, dem Deutschen Komponisten und Multi-Instrumentalisten, der u.a. das Projekt String Theory ins Leben rief und mit Künstler wie Apparat zusammengearbeitet hat.

„Having immersed myself in other artistic fields, my sources of inspiration are not music and listening, but rather images and feelings,” sagt D’Alberto. “In ‘Exile’ music has two strands. On the one hand there’s a sweetness, where I wanted to express the idea of a caress not given. On the other there is a more aggressive, powerful side, which translates into the presence of hidden blades connected to an urgent composition that I can’t escape. With PC Nackt the idea was that of letting two armies collide: the army of sublime beauty and that of aggression; to allow those hidden blades in my music to emerge and thus create something new.”

‚Like We Were‘ wird von einem Video des preisgekrönten Kurzfilmregisseurs Fabio Scacchioli begleitet, dessen Experimentalfilme auf Filmfestivals in aller Welt gezeigt wurden. Hier dekontextualisiert er altes Schwarz-Weiß-Material – mit Bildern von Liebe, Sehnsucht und Verzweiflung – und schafft neue, aufregende visuelle Landschaften, die D’Alberto’s bewegende Partitur perfekt begleiten. ’Like we were’ evokes the memory of a time that was, something that’s irrecoverable” sagt Scacchioli über die Entstehung des Videos “Working with Found Footage, we are directly introduced to the material of which memory is composed. In a way we cross our private and collective imagination. I started from this relationship with the memory that unites the piece of music and my way of working, proceeding through stratifications (visual, chromatic, narrative) to give shape to a fragile world poised between memory and oblivion, and populated by the characters of old film noir. It portrays the dreamy movement between the dimensions of an uncertain and unstable universe. „
